This is the first drawing of the Pinyon Pine Series, with a sort of pacific island-sunset hatching within the needles.
Made at the Grandview Campground within the White Mountains of the Inyo Range, just south of the Ancient Bristle Cone Pine Forest.
Drawn and polished with Staedtler graphite on Strathmore 400 series paper, 8 × 10 inches.
This piece has a subtle dirt smudge on the left of the image caused by pinyon pine sap. Difficult to see but it's there. Welcome to the wilds!
